Summertime picnics mean barbeque! An easy way to make pulled pork is to cook it in a slow cooker or the oven for a few hours. Enjoy!
Ingredients
1 (4 pound) pork shoulder roast or Boston butt
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp garlic powder
1 tsp liquid smoke
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 large onion, chopped
½ teaspoon dried thyme
1 ½ cups of water
Serve with barbeque sauce--your choice
Rinse meat then add to the slow cooker. Add water and liquid smoke. In a small bowl, mix dried thyme, chili powder, garlic powder, black pepper and salt. Sprinkle mixture on top of the meat.
Cook in slow cooker for five hours or until the meat is tender and falls away from the bone.
When the meat is completely done, remove from the liquid and using two forks, shred the meat, then stir in barbeque sauce.
Serve on hamburger buns. (Cut meat into smaller pieces if desired.)
